Monteriggioni Castle is a typical walled village, built by the Republic of Siena around 1200 to defend its territory from the continuous attacks of the Florentines armies. The castle still maintains 11 of its original 15 towers and perfectly preserved the elliptical walls. Inside the castle there are some habitations, cafes, restaurants and typical products shops.

Crossing the castle gate you breathe an atmosphere from a long time gone, which mixed with a finely restored apartment endowed with all the modern facilities make of this place the ideal destination for your holidays. Whoever passes between Firenze and Siena really cannot miss a visit to this ancient castle extremely rich in charm as much as in history.

During summer time, either inside or outside the castle, many folkloristic events take place, the most renowned of which is the Medieval costumed commemoration, at the beginning of July, with its impressive sword fighting. All around the castle on the sweet and green hills there are numerous paths ideal for walking, cycling and even riding. One of the most famous path is the "Via Francigena", used in the Middle Age by pilgrims to reach Rome, and today unfailing trail for trekking lovers.

The apartment we propose is on the first floor and overlooks the main square right in front of the church. On the lower floor a characteristic Bar - Trattoria where you could have lovely breakfasts or taste delightful typical Tuscan dishes.

FIRST FLOOR: with entrance through internal staircase (18 steps) in common with another apartment, there are living-dining room with kitchen corner, bathroom with shower, double bedroom, single bedroom and pullout bed (possible to make double and twin), bathroom with shower. Going up a wooden staircase there is an open loft with a characteristic sitting room (maximum height m 1,90).
